AG Lens Filter & Camera Lens Hood

Stable Image Recognition Elevates On-site Accuracy

In manufacturing and inspection processes, the stability of vision systems is a critical factor that directly impacts work quality. In particular, "glare" caused by reflections or highlights from lighting greatly reduces image recognition accuracy. NABELL’s AG series was born from listening to on-site feedback and addressing the core of these issues. It maximizes the performance of vision equipment and supports stable operation throughout your entire process.

What is Glare?

On production lines and in inspection processes, strong reflections can occur on the work surface due to LED lighting or external light sources. This phenomenon is called "glare" and becomes a factor that interferes with image recognition by vision systems. Especially for pattern recognition and positioning, glare makes accurate judgments difficult, so reliable countermeasures are required.

AG Lens Filter

Features & Effects

The AG Lens Filter effectively suppresses glare caused by mirror-finished workpieces and stray light from LED lighting. By reducing unnecessary reflections on the imaging surface, it enhances the stability of image recognition and contributes to overall equipment performance. It also serves as protection for the vision sensor, allowing you to use it with confidence.

Installation & Usability

The product comes pre-fitted with double-sided tape for mounting, so it can be used immediately after opening. Attachment and detachment are very easy, making on-site installation and maintenance smooth. In addition, spare double-sided tape is included, enabling repeated use.

Effect

Verification with actual equipment showed a clear difference in glare occurrence on images with and without the AG Lens Filter. In particular, during pattern recognition processing, parts of the image that were missing due to glare became clearly visible once the AG Lens Filter was installed.

AG Camera Lens Hood

Features & Structure

The AG Camera Lens Hood is a three-component product consisting of the AG Lens Filter, a camera cover, and a bellows-structured light-shielding hood. This combination suppresses glare caused not only by the TM Robot’s built-in LEDs but also by external lighting. It realizes a stable imaging environment under complex lighting conditions and contributes to improving your operational efficiency.

Use Cases & Installation Examples

Installation is completed by adjusting the camera position and lowering the bellows hood. This blocks unnecessary external light while the AG Lens Filter suppresses reflections from the built-in LEDs. It is particularly effective in environments with complex lighting, such as inspection lines and assembly processes in factories.

Effect

Verification with and without the AG Camera Lens Hood showed a significant reduction in glare caused by both built-in and external lighting. Image recognition results improved, and on the monitor, the contours of patterns became clearly distinguishable. These effects enhance the reliability of vision systems and contribute to improved work accuracy.

Glare is scarcely observed; the hood is effective at suppressing glare from both built-in and external lighting.

Our Thoughts on Development

Since our founding, we have utilized bellows manufacturing technology to produce numerous protective covers for precision cameras and industrial equipment. The AG Lens Filter and AG Camera Lens Hood were developed by leveraging this technical heritage to meet the growing demand for image recognition in recent years. The technologies employed in these products are currently patent-pending, integrating NABELL's long-cultivated know-how in "protecting from light" with innovations to "see correctly." During design, we carefully incorporated detailed requests from customers on-site and focused on the performance truly required. The AG series symbolizes NABELL’s step into the vision solutions field, backed by our history as a bellows manufacturer. As a "core" filled with NABELL’s technology and passion, we will continue to deliver new value to the future of image processing environments.

Although AG series products are designed specifically for TM ROBOT, they can also be adapted to other robots and camera devices. We offer customization according to installation conditions and operating environments. Please feel free to contact us.
