Company Motto

温故知新可以為師

"Confucius once said that those who deepen their insights into the present by studying the past are truly worthy of being leaders." Founder Ryo Nagai explained why he chose this phrase as the company motto as follows: "If humans could live a hundred years without fail, they might be freed from the current confusions and struggles, and be able to achieve many things in their own lives. However, life is short. Therefore, we must fully embrace the lessons of our predecessors and face new challenges. It is important to always do our very best in tackling problems, to use every bit of wisdom we have, and to act swiftly. We must also have the capacity to refer to the results of past learning. If we do so, our efforts will certainly bear some fruit. Yet, we must never become conceited with just one or two successes. It is essential to continuously reflect on whether we could have done better or been more creative. The phrase 'Onko Chishin' is a very meaningful teaching for us as we live our short lives with limited experience."

Our Five Principles

NABELL's Strategic Domain Theory

Since our founding, we have redefined the 'bellows' used in cameras and other products as 'something that expands when needed and contracts when not needed (=bellows),' and have expanded our strategic domains in concentric circles. Furthermore, by deepening our approach to 'functional covers,' we designated 3E (Environment, Enhancement, Equipment) as our strategic domain in 2019, shifting from products to experiences. By being aware of our own sphere of responsibility and driving reforms, we aim for sustainable corporate development and contribution to society.
