New Challenges
Toward Our Centennial—Creating a Sustainable Society
Thank you for your continued patronage and support. I am Norio Nagai, President and CEO of NABELL Co., Ltd. This October marks our 50th anniversary. We owe this milestone entirely to the unwavering support of our customers, suppliers, partners, employees, and their families. I extend my deepest gratitude to all of you. The COVID-19 pandemic that began in 2019 triggered sweeping social changes and exposed numerous issues, forcing us to adapt on many fronts—from workstyles and communication to distinguishing real demand from fleeting trends. With the yen weakening past ¥150 to the dollar for the first time in 32 years, Japan faces fresh trials atop three "lost decades." Geopolitical instability, soaring energy and material costs, and the challenge of securing domestic and global logistics all weigh heavily on business. Japan is also aging faster than any other nation, and the pain of population decline has already begun. Some scholars note that by embracing robotics, accelerating our lagging DX and IoT initiatives, and tackling today’s challenges head-on, Japan can become a model for the world. At NABELL, we have launched a new five-year plan aimed at leveling knowledge, skills, and information that tend to reside in individuals and at building a highly productive manufacturing organization. As expressed in Japan’s ancient Inaho (ears of rice) myth, our nation has long been built on rice cultivation. By leveraging our strengths in meticulous, quality-driven manufacturing and combining them with digital technologies, we believe we can help revive "Made in Japan." We are also preparing for a generational handover. Guided by our founder’s vision, we will continue pursuing "beautiful bellows" with passion and precision. We hope you look forward to the next chapter of NABELL as we embark on our 51st year.
